The one who left some part of herself in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We often think of landscape as something we observe. Yet landscape is also something we carry within us: a repository of memory, loss, longing, and imagination. Every landscape is, in a way, a self-portrait of the person looking at it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I interpreted the artists&#8217; words and conversations around the works, I found myself unexpectedly revisiting an earlier version of myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps this is why certain places, paintings, and encounters feel familiar before we can explain why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They do not simply remind us of the past.
