FAQ
Interpreting fees depend on the format and scope of your event: duration, number of languages, size of the audience and technical requirements. A high-level multilingual conference with 100+ participants differs significantly from a small workshop with one language pair. Costs may also vary depending on whether you require interpreters only or a comprehensive consultancy, including team coordination and conference equipment. You receive a free of charge, transparent, tailored quote—no surprises.
Agencies offer full project coordination, including interpreter recruitment, technical equipment and project management. As a freelance conference interpreter, I provide the same comprehensive service—while remaining your direct point of contact.
You benefit from my professional network, even for language combinations I do not personally cover, and from a streamlined structure without agency overheads. In practice, this often means higher adaptability, greater insights and knowledge of the market and profession as well as more efficient budgeting.
The titles “translator” and “interpreter” are not legally protected, which can make comparisons difficult. Reliable indicators of professionalism include specialised academic training, conference experience, references, membership in professional associations and the ability to provide clear, competent consultancy. In short: expertise you can verify—and advice you can trust.
You will find selected testimonials in the section “What my clients say.” For reasons of confidentiality, I do not publish client names. I am happy to discuss my experience and relevant projects with you personally—feel free to send me a message or arrange a call.
Even fluent speakers communicate more precisely, confidently and persuasively in their native language. Anyone who has spent a whole day communicating in a foreign language knows how exhausting it can be. Interpreting reduces cognitive load, prevents misunderstandings and ensures that all participants—regardless of language proficiency—can contribute at their full professional level.
Hiring interpreters is not a sign of linguistic weakness, but of respect for your audience and for the importance of your content. It allows your speakers to focus on substance rather than vocabulary—and that is where real expertise becomes visible.
AI-based speech translation can be useful for informal communication, but it cannot reliably handle specialist terminology, complex argumentation, fast speakers, accents, humour or cultural nuance—nor can it guarantee confidentiality. AI systems may also hallucinate, introducing information that was never said—an obvious risk to your credibility and reputation.
Conference interpreting is about conveying meaning, intent and tone in real time, adapting to speakers and audiences as the discussion evolves. When accuracy, discretion and professional impact matter, human interpreters remain indispensable.
Yes—subject to prior agreement and additional costs. Interpreting is created for immediate delivery and is protected by copyright, so any recording or subsequent use requires consultation in advance.
