Crafting multilingual clarity since 2015
I’m Anna Maria Władyka-Leittretter, a consultant conference interpreter (Master of Arts), officially sworn and publicly appointed translator and interpreter, senior member of VKD (German Association of Conference Interpreters), AIIC member (International Association of Conference Interpreters), respeaker and voice-over artist for native Polish (A), English (B) and near-native German (B).
What brought me here? Ikigai may be the most fitting word — a convergence of passion, purpose and a deliberate commitment to multilingual communication as my profession.
The first interpreter in my family and not raised bilingually, I like to think the seed was planted during the months I spent as a baby in Vienna, where my father worked as an engineer.
Originally from Warsaw, I honed my craft after graduating from the University of Warsaw across multicultural hubs — Rouen, Germersheim, Luxembourg, Brussels and Berlin — before making Leipzig my chosen home and acquiring dual citizenship. In 2018, I founded AMWL Sprachen.
With an MA in Conference Interpreting, over 450 conference days (in a booth) and a deep-rooted commitment to continuous professional development, I bring linguistic precision and industry knowledge to every assignment, offering all-round services including event planning, team management and technical coordination.
As the title conference interpreter is not legally protected, membership in professional associations such as VKD and AIIC is an essential quality indicator. You can verify my qualifications here:

The stories behind my specialisations
EU affairs & politics
Forged in the corridors of Brussels and Strasbourg — after internships at EU institutions and numerous political and diplomatic events. I’ve lived the process, not just interpreted it.
Automotive
What started as a childhood passion became a professional niche. (Yes, I counted down the days to my driving test — and no, the excitement hasn’t faded.)
Environmental stewardship
Beyond the booth, I’m committed to sustainability — from paperless workflows to mindful travel and greener event practices.
Cosmetics & skincare
A certified make-up artist with a soft spot for INCI lists. Retinoids, centella asiatica, tocopherol sound like Harry Potter spells, don’t they? In reality, they make your beauty communication truly shine.
Cultural & academic topics
With a background in literary translation, I feel most at home in deep conversations — architecture, history, film, literature. I’ve even climbed castle ruins with archaeologists! Give me a complex idea and I’ll give you clarity. See my book translations here.
Pharma & medicine
From cardiology, through endocrinology to clinical trials, I support expert-level meetings with thorough preparation and scientific precision. Complex terminology is my natural habitat. And few moments are as rewarding for a medical interpreter as a smile on a patient’s face.
